Anyone has "SodaStream"?

Does this work? I love carbonated drinks. I actually buy fruit juice and mix it with soda water. But the bottled soda water loses carbonation quickly after it's opened.

got it for DH for christmas and he really likes it. However, be warned that the flavors that come with it are all artificially flavored. Sounds like you wouldn't need them anyway, but just thought I'd add that warning. And yes, it gets REALLY carbonated (of course, DH does the carbonation way more than it says to, but still).

Love ours. We use it only for carbonated water and have not tried any of the flavors. I like that you can control the carbonation and the 1L bottles do hold it quite well.

Third the PPs - love our SodaStream (got it a year ago), have never tried the flavoring syrups. There's one model, the Fountain Jet, that can fit 110L gas cylinders instead of the 60L that the rest of the machines use.

We have two - Penguin and a Genesis. The Penguin has glass bottles. In my opinion, the Genesis is easier to use and has a better bottle / cap. We love it b/c we only drink carbonated water (no soda). Even the kids drink it. You can also get replacement co2 canisters at Williams Sonoma and Sur La Table although it is less expensive to exchange them through the online store.

We have had a genesis for 2 years. The samples of "soda" they send are gross. We use it mainly for seltzer, but sometime mix seltzer with juice, or for a special treat, italian syrup to make "soda". I could not stand all the plastic bottle waste and I love this appliance!

I have two. One at home and one at the office. I have had them for three months and love them. I got the Fountain Jet at Great Indoors online with store pickup when they had them on sale. Ended up getting each for about $70. I envisioned getting the larger cylinders, but haven't used up the first smaller cylinder that came with the machines. I drink primarily seltzer, and bought the sampler for the flavors. I wasn't impressed. I did like the fruit flavor enhancers.

We have had the Sodaclub Penguin for four (I think - possibly three) years now, and I don't think I could live without it. Seriously, it is my favorite kitchen gadget, and I spend A LOT of time in the kitchen, if that tells you anything. We only use it for seltzer, not flavored water, but you will have a hard time going back to store-bought seltzer after you make your own. We make ours really fizzy, and everything else just seems so bland after it.

Enjoy!

Love my Sodastream, but do NOT love their flavorings. They all have artificial sweeteners. I use the Torani syrups -- available at World Market -- and then make "Italian sodas" where I can regulate how sweet they are. But most of the time I just drink the selzer plain.

My friend got one for Chirstmas... it was great! She made some lemon soda for my kids -- they liked it. She just uses it for seltzer. I wonder do they make tonic water flavoring?

Is there a way to flavor it using real lemons or limes?

Best money I ever spent. I use it daily. FYI you can swap out the canisters at Bed Bath adn Beyond or William Sonoma. It only costs 15.99. I'm also pretty sure you can use a $5 off coupon at BBB when you do it
