Okay, so I posted a few days ago saying I was trying to decide whether to go the PC or Mac route. Since then, my current laptop (a Lenovo) has kicked the bucket so I'm looking to make this decision like yesterday and for the life of me can't decide.
My husband really wants me to go with a PC (if you read my other post I think I explained why...I actually had a Mac laptop two computers ago and switched back to PC so he thinks I'm nuts for wanting to try again) but when I go into the Apple store I get so drawn in - and all my research (and even talking to people at Best Buy) tells me that for my uses I should go with a Mac. Help! I feel like a PC (the very highly rated Toshiba Portege with a better processor and more memory) is the sensible option but I can't seem to let go of the Mac idea. Grrr. So, if you hate your Mac, please tell me why! Thanks! |
Nope, love my Mac! |
....because it is not a PC. I have been a PC gal for years, then my DH convinced me to go MAC..."it's cool....it's the best....you will never go back to a PC...." well bah humbug! I don't get what all the fuss is about.
I was so used to how my PC works, the shortcuts etc. Now I have to get used to a whole new system and I hate it. I don't have the time or desire to learn a new system, even bought the lessons but can't make time to drag my butt into the oh-so-cool Apple store to take the freaking lessons! So I told my DH that my MAC is going to become the family computer and I am getting a PC. he thinks I'm nuts, but I don't care. No one will convince me that MACs are better than PCs. |
I was talked into a Mac by my brother. I will never ever buy a PC again. It is worth the extra $$$ to never ever have to think about viruses, spyware, pop-ups and all of that other crap that ruined my last 2 PCs. |
Another "No way, love my Mac"! Nice try ![]() |
Was issued a Mac for work three months ago and haven't touched our home Dell laptop since. It's not even a contest. |
PC's are crap. Macs last forever. Get the Mac. I love mine. |
I love my new Mac Air! I'm writing on it now. Sure, the "magic mouse" and the "command" function take a bit of getting used to. But it's worth it, IMO. |
Hands down, in love, really will never go back to PC.
The only, and I mean ONLY way I'd work on a PC again is with extensive work excel projects. Fortunately I just need basic excel these days. Otherwise I'd lose a lot of my shortcuts that Microsoft does. |
LOVE MY MACBOOK PRO! I can't believe that I can shut it, go away, then come back and open it and it's ready to go immediately...no slow start-up like with my Dell laptop. It also runs like a dream and like others said -- no viruses, spyware, etc.
If you want a Mac but still want Windows, just get VMWare Fusion. It's like $79 and you can run Windows on your Macbook Pro, which is what I do when I need windows (Snow Leopard is kicking its ass in my eyes, though, and I'm a long-time Windows techy girl). P.S. AVOID TOSHIBA LIKE THE PLAGUE! I had a Satellite and its sucked so hard it was actually involved in a class-action lawsuit. Toshiba ended up having to pay me $500 as part of the lawsuit because it was so dangerous and shitty. I don't doubt their quality is still dire. |
Translation: I have been brainwashed through years of exposure into thinking that PCs are as good as Macs. It's like Stockholm Syndrome, with Bill Gates as the hostage taker. Also, I am too lazy and slow to learn a new operating system, even though it's intuitive and simple to learn. (OK, that was mean, but come on, PP!) In prior lives, I also refused to use an automatic transmission, kept using my manual typewriter instead of those newfangled 'puters, and steadfastly maintained that it was easy to drag a pallet along on the ground - no need for that round thing that rolled along. In short, I am a Luddite. |
Another Mac lover here. |
Have used Macs now since college (in the early 90s). Went PC ONCE and that was a mistake. Now using a work-issued MacBook and LOVE it. |
I couldn't WAIT to get this damn Mac (Macbook pro). Now I wish i could throw it out the window. Everyone said it would be so intuitive, but after years of using PCs I find it an exercise in frustration. And honestly, it is no faster or more reliable than my old PC. It was a lot more expensive though. |
I love everything about my Mac. |
