PSA: Trader Joe's Pear Cider, YUM!

Anonymous
Just wanted to let everyone know, the new pear cider at Trader Joe's is awesome. It's okay cold, but hot, it is amazing. They have a pretty good cranberry ginger cider, but the ginger is strong. Both are perfectly spiced and not too sweet. I'm definitely going to take this short cut for serving hot cider over the holidays.

How did you get your job with TJ's? I hear they pay well.

OMG. Not the OP, but really? Do you really think TJ execs troll Moms message boards to sneak in marketing plugs for their pear cider?

Maybe she just likes the cider!!!

Not execs, obviously. They hire someone to do it -- just like most companies do. Have you never read through the jobs classifieds?

I just tasted this yesterday and it is fantastic.

OP here - really? How many threads are there on DCUM about how much people love Trader Joe's? There's a whole list of favorite foods from TJ's someone started that has many pages.

For the record I'm a grossly overpaid, lazy government employee, I just happen to be home sick today and thinking about how much I love my warm cider.

I was just at the Trader Joe's in Bethesda and it was FREEZING in there! All the employees were wearing jackets and santa hats. Brrrrr.

They must not have enough money to crank up the heat what with all they're paying people to post plugs for their cider on message boards.

Totally. It was FREEZING. My DC was shivering.

Seriously, are you people unaware of this 'social networking' PR that goes on? It's hard to believe that people on this site are that naive.

Yes but some people just like TJ's pear cider. It's not all a vast marketing conspiracy.

Oh, the 'vast conspiracy' insult.

Actually, I thought about starting a similar thread since there have been several that asked people about their favorite Trader Joe's products (all were several pages long...so either there are many marketing execs trolling DCUM or people just like Trader Joe's. I fall into the latter category myself).

Anyways, it is fabulous and I plan on going back tomorrow to get several containers before it is not around anymore!

I am the 'vast conspiracy' poster. I have both contributed to many threads about Trader Joe's products, both ones I like and ones I don't like. The OP's post in this thread is over the top ridiculous, IMO, and it sounds just like an ad. Hard to imagine anyone gushing over a trader joe's product like that in real life.

OP again, maybe it's the cold meds, but DH and I loved the cider and I did make a point of telling a few friends too. I dunno, it's cold outside, windy and it's the holidays, so I thought others might get some small joy out of it too. Plus, I've seen at least one post asking about serving spiced apple cider, so I figured I could be helpful too. Lighten up.
