Toys for 20 month old

Anonymous
What are some good toys for a 20 month old?

We have puzzles and blocks and plenty of trucks and cars... but lately DS seems to be bored with everything. I rotate his toys on a weekly basis and that helps for one day and then its back to the boredom.

Time for new toys? Old toys? thoughts?

Do you have anything that makes noise? As much as I try and avoid those toys, my 19 mo loves anything that raises the decibel level in the house -- tamborines, a harmonica, etc. He also loves the pretend laptop, cell phone and other "grown-up" items. Does he have anything to climb on? Mine uses the pottery barn anywhere chair as a seesaw, launch pad, climbing device, you name it. But hands down, his favorite "toy" is his 3 yo brother!

Toy kitchen and food, pots, and pans.

Small people and animals.

Art supplies.

A doll? My dd started loving dolls at 1, and her younger brother followed suit and plays a lot with his favorite doll at age 2.

I am in the same boat with my 20-month old DS! I'm realizing that at least half of his toys need to be packed up and put away, as he has outgrown them.

Currently he LOVES play-doh and is slowly getting into doing little art projects. He likes sidewalk chalk when we're outside. We are thinking about getting him a train table in the next couple of months (early b-day present) with the little tracks and toy Thomas trains (it's expensive so may let people know that these would be great b-day gifts).
