War on Women

The Republicans who are advocating for this are just openly telling you their eventual goal, which is a Handsmaid-esque patriarchal dystopia. And yes, moderate Republicans like Collins are to blame, but it’s not like women have a safe home with the current Democrats either.

Susan Faludi described historical periods of progress for women as always followed by a sharp and immediate backlash. We are in that backlash.

You are the problem. Literally any of y’all who insist that both sides are equally bad WHEN THE GOP IS ADVOCATING THE DEATH PENALTY FOR MISCARRIAGES is the problem. Hi. It’s you. You’re the problem.

You believe the GOP will kill women who miscarry? Really????

They wanted a ten year old rape victim to give birth to her rapists child so…yeah?

Who was the rapist again?

What a remarkable take. Are you asserting that if she has been raped by a white man, she would have been entitled to an abortion and her doctor wouldn’t have been harassed?

Because if you Google “Brock Turner” I think you’ll find there’s at least one privileged white rapist living in Ohio.

I’m more concerned about the child than the abortion. Her mother is unfit. She defended the rapist. Good for you for bringing in race, rather than the welfare of the child, which abortion is only a tiny piece. Needing an abortion is huge red flag re: the safety of the child in her current living situation. Getting her an abortion, then sending her back into the lion’s den? OK with you?

Abortion is not a “tiny piece” of the welfare of a pregnant ten year old you sicko. Read the cases from places where ten year olds are expected to deliver their rapists children— they die, they are tragically injuries, at dramatically higher rates than an adult giving birth. That’s why civilized countries don’t ask children to give birth.

Who raised those flags you’re on about? Who got her help? Who reported her rapist? The same doctor who referred her for an abortion. The same doctor the Ohio district attorney is harassing.

I’d like to point out that there has not been a single meaningful reply to this PP’s question. There is no “both sides” on the war on women; it’s coming entirely from the right wing.

Really? Is it the right that is demanding that trans women be allowed in women's sports?

NP. You bought into the lies hook, line, and sinker. You think anti-choice centers help women?! Not sure if I should laugh or cry. I just pray you aren’t a woman because you work against the interest and safety of women.

Really?! You think this affects all women? There are 32 trans athletes in the NCAA. This is not a problem that all women face.

“Take prosperity. Guess who is more financially prosperous—married moms or childless single women?

Married mothers. Married mothers ages 18-55 have a mean household income of $133,000, compared to $79,000 for childless, single woman 18-55, according to data from the U.S. Census’ American Community Survey.

And guess who is happiest?

Again, married mothers: Thirty-three percent of married mothers ages 18-55 say they are “completely satisfied” with their lives, compared to 15 percent of childless women 18-55, according to the American Family Survey (for which I serve as an academic advisor).

What’s more, single, childless women are about 60 percent more likely to report feelings of loneliness compared to married women.”

https://www.aei.org/op-eds/why-conservative-women-report-being-the-happiest-and-how-you-can-be-too/

This married mother is still alive thanks to a medical abortion. I received methotrexate for an ectopic pregnancy. In addition to not having to wait until I was hemorrhaging to receive treatment, methotrexate allowed me to avoid surgery and preserve my future fertility (DD#2 was conceived after my ectopic).
Plus the added benefit of, you know...not leaving my older DD motherless.

Nope, you’re still mangling the name, and they’re not “based at UVa;” they have a PO Box in Charlottesville.
