Please help me with my new haircut

I have fine, thin hair that waves/frizzes (wavy on most days, frizz on not-so-good days). The shorter it gets, the more it curls up. When I moved to DC because of the humidity I grew out my bangs so I could just pull my hair back. However, bangs are just a more flattering look for me so I went and got my hair cut. But now 90% of the time my bangs are wavy/frizzy and they just always look ... messy. If I straighten them with a round brush and a blow dryer on low heat within 20 minutes they are all curled up going in a million directions. I don't want to use a straightening serum on my hair overall because generally the rest of my hair is wavy with a small amount of frizz that I can handle and without the wave it just looks thin. Even with the lower humidity/temps we have been having things did not get better. Any advice for getting my bangs to stay straight? TIA.

Give them some structure and hold with a product like Bumble and Bumble Sumo or Garnier Fructis Reshapable Putty. Put a little styling creme in the rest of your hair.

Don't fight your bangs--it is a total waste of time and doesn't look great to have curly hair and straight bangs. Part on the side and sweep your bangs across your forehead. Use a bobby pin or barette to hold them in place. You can arrange your hair so that the bobby pin is covered by the rest of your hair.

The rest of my hair isn't curly, it is just kind of wavy without any curls. I don't like having bangs that curl up in various directions when the rest of my hair isn't all that curly. The weight of the longer hair keeps it from getting curly (ie, the shorter it gets, the curlier it gets).

Seems like the only thing to do is shave yourself bald.

You need to start using some serious product.

Can't your stylist suggest something?

Point being straight across bangs only work on people who have really straight hair or are willing to put in the time to straighten their hair. Since you are neither, I would suggest you try something else.
