Where can I find an afternoon camp?

What do you do with your child in the afternoon during the summer if they do something like swim team or other lessons in the morning?

Where are you? Impulse City in Hyattsville has an afternoon option.

Sur La Table has camps that start at 1.

Landon has afternoon tennis.

You hire a nanny. Or youre a stay at home parent. Swim team isnt for working families that need full day care.

What a ridiculous response. That's a given, but children need social activities in the afternoon. Sitting at home watching TV isn't going to cut it. Past year there were many more afternoon camp options.

Mostly it seems like private schools offer this option.

Which is why some area pools near us have after-camp practice options for working parents.

Most of the swim team families in our neighborhood go back to the pool in the afternoon and the kids play with their friends while the at-home parents hang out (or the WAH parents work quietly).

Not sure where you are located? In Arlington, there are 2 arts centers (museum of contemporary art and Art House 7) that offer PM camps. We have done both and they are excellent.

There are afternoon or morning only camps OP but it would be helpful if you provided your area. For example, plenty of summer camps in Annapolis provide half-day stuff. It doesnt work for our family this summer but I am thinking of doing swim team next year and then only doing full-day camps once swim team is over. We are going to see how much he likes camps this year.

I think there are some half day sports camps offered through MoCo parks and rec.

But generally not camp. The social activity is swim team. In the afternoon you go on outings or back to the pool.
