Can anyone shed light on what this entails?

Being a member of Congress.

Most schools want to get a sense for your family, your child (their interests, learning profile, etc), and what you’re looking for in a school. Basically, are you/your child and the school a good fit?

Are you going to be an involved parent, which means two things:

1) the kind of parent who is always getting up in their shit, meddling (the bad kind)

2) the kind of parent who writes the checks, attends the occasional event they're invited to where they politely clap

Be #2 and you'll be fine. This is not public school PTO.

We applied last year and it really wasn't much. I think they generally try to do it when they have you there for the student visit, but we did ours by phone. It was super quick and easy.

Fart frequently and talk about yourself a lot. Say VERY little about your kid other than repeating that he/she is gifted.

When we applied a few years ago the interview was very low-key and friendly. Very conversational. Don’t stress.
