Percentage of Resources on Enrichment

My son is in 4th grade at a local private. The school has resource specialists for math and reading as well as additional aids for the grade. Every year, a few months in we get an email that my son has been identified for some enrichment work. By the end of the year, they end up meeting with the specialists less than a handful of times. Year after year, it has been over promise and under deliver. On the flip side, I know they are frequently holding "review" groups for kids who are struggling more. One of the teachers basically admitted to me that enrichment is an "if they have time" after thought.

Is enrichment for reading or math common at your elementary private? What percentage of the specialists time would you expect to be spent on enrichment? Would this be enough to make you leave a private school that you otherwise like (as it feels like they are admitted that they are not meeting my sons needs.)

Thanks!

I mean the elementary school enrichment is kind of pointless you will see by the time they are in high school. Not a reason to leave a school. The smart kids will crush it regardless and the enrichment does do anything meaningful at that age

We are happy regardless so that is a good perspective. I think I’m most frustrated that they don’t follow through on what they say themselves they will do and just don’t seem to prioritize it. But maybe your point is that they don’t prioritize it because it doesn’t matter.
