Tryouts are coming up for 13u and up. Lots of kids trying out?

No coaches have been name yet, correct? It's basically a rebrand of Arlington Senators which seems to be flailing over the past few years. Kids leaving the program in droves. It's also to get more kids playing for ASBR (rec/house bball) which has also been losing kids to travel programs outside Arlington. Partnering with ATB was a good idea so funnel those kids in, instead of losing them to other better programs starting at 13U.

Kids that we know who are trying out aren't elite enough to be in a top tier/select program but want to practice/play close to Arlington.

Arlington United is a JV between ATB and Senators. Senators (13u-15+ U) is generally fed from Storm (goes up to 12u). ATB goes up to 14U. Over the past few years kids 13u+ increasingly started playing outside of Arlington (Pioneers, Primetime, Cadets, etc) instead of going to ATB or Senators. Senators was tied with Arlington Senior Babe Ruth by the way, which is a house league. When kids don't go to Senators, the house league suffers. I think its a smart move to strengthen the overall Arlington program by combining and forming United, but much is left unknown about who will be leading and coaching.

If kids didn't go to senators because they heard others didn't have a good experience, how are people supposed to trust that AU will be any better?

It's a valid question. They hired some new guy to lead it who has a good reputation but he's not coaching.
