There is probably not a straightforward answer. DD’s school has no promotion ceremony and no awards ceremony. Other schools clearly have them. Identity the school if you want a clearer response. |

Many FCPS middle schools are so large that they don't do promotion ceremonies anymore. Can you imagine sitting through an 8th grade graduation ceremony with 500 to 700 kids? It would take hours. And where could they possibly host it? Certainly not at the schools.
Some schools do an awards ceremony where only kids who are getting awards are invited. |
