My oldest is 14 and has been my easiest kid by far since birth.
Easy baby. Happy, content. Slept through the night by 12 weeks. Even as a toddler minimum tantrums. Good student, nice to siblings, super chill personality and kind kid. I keep waiting for her to get challenging and thought it would be the teenage years but she’s still super pleasant. Mild attitude at times but otherwise I find her so much fun. She’s so smart and mature and I genuinely enjoy spending time with her as a person. Are some kids just easy forever? I have three younger kids (11 year old twin boys & 8-year-old girl) who have been challenging on and off during their life. I love them all equally so much but man, it’s so nice to have one kid who just has been pleasant forever. Should I hold my breath? Is she going to switch it up on me at 16? |
You can exhale. Sounds like has an easy personality. My eldest DD is also like that, and it’s been a pleasure. We have our moments of bickering, but on a whole she is thoughtful, funny, and great to talk to. |
Some are but at 14, you’re counting your chickens before they’re hatched. |
With four kids, she probably figured out what she needed to do to survive. |
My daughter was pretty easy through 14. 15 had its moments, 16 was a horrible year but things are improving now she is 17.
I don’t think you are out of the woods just yet |

she's a master manipulator and has you totally wrapped around her fingers. |
+1 definitely possible she will stay easy but probably equally possible she doesn’t. |
lol DCUM is so weird sometimes. |
Humble brag post. It was pure luck. Congrats! |
Mine is 17 and I’ve had the same experience. I can count on one hand the number of times we’ve bickered. She’s awesome. My 15yo boy, on the other hand… He’s matured quite a bit, but those younger years were HARD. He was quite a handful! |
If you had my tendencies towards luck in life, your daughter will now become a nightmare because of this post. I cannot sing my kids praises because fate is always listening and loves to humble me. |
This. She gets attention and accolades for being “the good girl” |
