Off the waitlist at Duke - unsure what to do

Anonymous
DS recently got off the waitlist at Duke and isn't sure what to do, currently committed to Penn. DS will visit Duke but anyone with experience at both schools? Studying math and statistics.

This is a tough one! No advice. Congratulations on your good options!

Most kids we know who've gotten into both schools picked Duke, unless they also got into HYPSM.

He applied and didn't visit? He needs to visit. Completely different atmospheres.

No idea, but congrats to him! Can you squeeze in a visit?

That's what I was thinking. Couldn't be more different atmospheres.

The majority of kids with this choice pick Penn. Unless DC loved Duke as his first choice, I would stick with Penn

My sister transferred out of Duke because the vibe/community didn't work for her. How long do you have? I'd schedule a quick visit if you can.

+1 My DC is getting ready to transfer out of a very highly ranked school for somewhere less prestigious because they just aren't happy there.
