5th Grade Boy shoes

| I ordered some new tennis shoes for my son in 5th grade. I bought Air Force One Nike shoes in his favorite colors. DS likes them, but DH thinks they look like girls shoes - even though I definitely bought boys shoes. Does anyone know if boys wear such shoes? What are popular shoes for boys this age? |

| I’m in our elementary school a lot and don’t see a lot (any?) boys wearing Air Force ones. I think it’s regional bc I see kids on social media wearing them in other states. My 5th grade son requested Nike Air Max 270s bc that is what most of his friends were wearing. |

At our school the Nikes are sportier than Air Force Ones for the boys. The Air Max 270 a PP wrote above is popular.
Sambas are also big. |

If your kid likes them, let him wear them. If the kids make him feel self conscious, he will ask to change on his own. No need to make things worse at home.
My DS once picked out blue sneakers that I think might have been for girls. There was a purple patch that I don't think companies would use for boys. He wore them til they fell apart and got a different color the next time. NBD. |
