Use 3rd and 4th grade math skills of your child is in 2nd grade, that your child is able to complete and place them on one sheet for your child to complete with space to show their work. Then explain how your child developed those skills , what all math skills they have, how long does it take them to pick up new skills or to do the problems. Word problems with multi steps are great.

You don't want worksheets, you want something that shows problem solving ability and requires a demonstration of critical thinking skills. That's per our AART.

We have used a math problem from https://nrich.maths.org/9085 with a detailed explanation.

My child wrote and solved their own math problems on scrap papers around the house. We used that.

Don’t forget art. As part of the new HOPE rating chart (which replaced GBRS), you can submit the art portfolio, talk about art classes or camps, etc.

Also performing arts, or ability at home with a foreign language like Spanish. This can also prove AAP admission.

This ! I totally agree. Art shows creativity and also thinking out of box . You can incorporate language ( if you are dual language) . I made my kid do an art sample and explained it in different language in DD’s own word it made a huge impact in getting in . I got in on 5th grade after trying for years.

Did your AART say this? Because ours for years has emphasized that any art as a work sample has to have a core academic component. This year she doubled down on focusing on math and LA samples.

I mean, you can certainly do art that relates to math (perspective calculations, geometry), but just a gorgeous drawing isn't going to move the needle.
