Apple finally debuted their first new ipads since 2022. I'm curious to hear if people are able to successfully use their ipads as laptop replacements. I can't imagine dropping $1k + for a tablet relegated to use to consume media. Have they just gotten too powerful ($$$) vs utilitarian?

I thought about buying an iPad but realized that I could get far more powerful hardware with an Android tablet for half the cost. To your point, if I'm just consuming media (tv, movies, audio, and reading), why pay for an iPad? I have a very powerful laptop for any intensive computing needs, and that's where I chose to spend my $$$.

Btw, same rule applies to cell phones. Android all the way. It makes no sense to spend $800+ on a phone.
