I am old, but no CD players in luxury cars?

I am in the middle of car shopping and am sad that there's no CD player option. I buy used CDs for $1-2 each and it's my escape to listen to bad 90s pop and classical piano during the dreaded commute / kid pick up / errands. I know I can rip CDs onto a thumb drive (theoretically... I don't actually know how to do that without consulting YouTube). But I prefer the tactile elements of taking the CDs out, looking at the album liners, and just physically having a sense of which songs are going to play. Anyone else this way? What did you end up doing? I talked to two dealerships and honestly they just kind of laughed and thought I was joking.

No one uses CD's. Don't you have a phone with music? I have not had a CD player in my last 3 cars.

Everyone just uses Apple Music, Pandora or other streaming services. You can get your 90's and classical music on there.

Use Spotify or YouTube music, it has everything

No, I don’t like to use my phone and have no music apps or music streaming. I still have a CD player in my house.

You are old. What I did was "rip' the CDs to a USB stick as my car will take one of those. I leave it in my car.

I had a dream last night in which I was surprised to find that something I was interested in was on a CD.

I ruined quite a few CDs in car CD players because of the inevitable friction and motion while driving.

So this is a good development, OP. Take it from a classica music lover who doesn't use any music app, and has a GRAMOPHONE at home. And CD players.

Dial up

Jk I am on my phone and don’t like how much I’m on my phone as is. I don’t need music and books on here too.

How old are you?

So my other issue is that both laptops I own do not even have a cd drive. Why don’t laptops have disk drives? So I will have to buy a cd drive to rip CDs and put them on thumb drives I will also have to buy. So much work to make things ostensibly simpler.
