Honors/AP at Jackson Reed

Can anyone tell me how challenging these classes generally are? Curious both about workload and about how well they are taught. I know teacher quality will vary but trying to get an overall sense. Are these classes usually filled with students who want to learn and not cut corners or is it more a mix of interest given the size of the school and the lack of prerequisites for some of the classes?
