Gift ideas for 12 yr old boy

Anonymous
My son is turning 12 and he gave me some generic bday gift ideas but nothing specific. What is a great gift for 12-yr old? I’m trying to hold out a bit longer on a phone and he has an Apple watch so is reachable.

Does he already have bike, skateboard, scooter and associated helmet and pads? A slack line, corn hole, spike ball, bocce can be fun if you have a yard. Or gift certificates to rock climbing, ropes courses, top golf, etc can be fun.

An experience, e.g., attending a pro sports game if he's a sporty kid. Or some type of experience related to his hobbies/activities.

Thank you— These are all great suggestions! Can anyone recommend an electric scooter your kid loves? There are so many to choose from

Do his friends have electric scooters? Ask their parents what type since they'll compare. If his friends don't have them, think about where and when he'd use it. We went with non electric after realizing they didn't have people to ride electric with. Plus more exercise!

My son’s favorite gift when he turned 12 was a snack box filled with his favorite treats 😁

How about hand-eye coordination games like Pindaloo, devil sticks, Pop Darts, arm slinkies? Or a tabletop game (Klask, foosball, air hockey)?

Honestly, mine would be super excited by the bolded, plus a bunch of Gatorade.

It doesn't take much.

Gaming mouse
Sports team memorabilia
New Stainless Steel water bottle and stickers (Redbubble has stickers for most everything he might be interested in)
Gift card for in-game purchases if he plays video games

This age was hard for gift ideas so we went with the above. Multiple small gifts instead of one big one. He was thrilled.
