Summer Soccer League for Kids

Anonymous
Are there any summer soccer leagues for kids? I have an elementary aged boy looking for a fun league with games. He plays travel during the year, but was hoping for something like a low key rec league or something similar over the summer.

Where are you looking? XMD Soccer has low key practice/games June-early August in Rockville.

This is going to depend on where you live.

MD Soccerplex has a 5v5 league.

Any equivalents in Virginia? Looking for something more low key than travel - like a summer rec league for an elementary school aged kid for fun before the season starts.

We do a few summer camps. We’d be interested in a summer league, but don’t know any.

There’s an Arlington Soccer rec team that organized to play in an indoor league (? I assume a league? A series of games at the same facility?) over last summer at Fairfax Sportsplex. While the coach and players were on the same team, their participation in it was, as far as I know, entirely outside Arlington Soccer, so parents paid out of pocket, though of course no one was forced to. I think the coach just sent out a “hey would anyone be interested…” and there was enough interest to field an indoor summer soccer team.

Other than that, is Super Y not an option? Yes it’s travel but it’s not particularly competitive since so many families go on vacation or do other camps etc. which is why the rosters are so big.

I looked into Super Y for my 2014B and it wasn’t open to that age group. This was for Arlington (he doesn’t play for them—it was the closest SY team).

You mean they didn’t have any spots left, or that Arlington Super Y isn’t available at all to 2014B?
