is $10 a lot of a teenger?

I am 70 year old disabled man, and no longer can take the trash to the curb, I am willing to offer a teen $10 to take out the trash once a week to the curb. Is that a lot of them? I know most of them don't want to work anymore, but for the ones that do is it a lot? I will be posting on next door, and hopefully I find someone

I hope you find someone OP, I would think a neighbor would be happy to help.

My teen would be happy to help a neighbor with that for free (as would my husband). I'd definitely look close to home, since it wouldn't be a bother for a neighbor already putting the trash out. It would be less appealing for someone who has to drive to do the task weekly.

This is the kind of thing that I think if you post on Next door, good chance a neighbor will offer to do for free. Not because of money one way or another but because there's still some community left to help with such a simple task.

But if you want to pay a teenager $10 for this task, I think it's more than enough.

If it is someone in your couple of blocks it's probably fine. But be aware that teens schedules may not permit them to do this every week (school breaks, family vacations, etc.). So not always the most reliable source for ongoing tasks.

I hope you find someone. But you may want to start looking at independent living situations. My mother recently moved to one and it's been a huge improvement in QOL.

I would do that for free, OP, if a neighbor asked. And I'd not allow my teen to take money for it.

Just a thought, but maybe someone can help you with more too?

Agreed that if my neighbor needed help I'd have my son do it for free.

That’s generous. My kid does this weekly for a neighbor and gets $30/mo (3 dumpsters each time)

Be clear that you want them to bring the bin back up too.

This, if you are disabled, limited income no way we’d take money from you. One of us would help.

Contact your city trash pickup first. For elderly and disabled, I believe they will walk up to the top of your driveway and do the pickup so that you don't have to

I would have my kids it for free, but they would jump at the chance to be paid $10 for it!
