Cheesecake Question

**Disclaimer: this is a fun, silly question- please people do not ruin my thread with arguments out of nowhere**

So I am making a pecan turtle cheesecake for a party tomorrow with Oreo crust. I am thinking… would a nice thick layer of ganache in between the crust and the cheesecake be ridiculously yummy or too much? TIA!

I think I'd leave the ganache out. I'd want to chocolate from the Oreo crust stand on it's own with the turtle topping.

I love your question. I don’t know the answer, but I like how you think. Have fun at the party!

I cleaned the nuts out because half the people won’t be able to eat it. Even if they don’t have an allergy, many people do you have nuts sensitivities

I’d do a layer of caramel on top of crust and drizzle ganache on top if you’re feeling particularly extravagant. You could also do a layered cheesecake with caramel over crust and a middle layer of ganache and whole thing topped with caramel and ganache drizzle and a few extra pecans. Go big or go home.

Hmm. I’m going to go against the tide and say thumbs up to the ganache, especially if you nixed the pecans. With ganache you’ve got a nice hit of chocolate (Oreos don’t really taste like chocolate to me) and the caramel from the turtle part. Only thing left is to share your address and party start time!

Agree. If there are no nuts, all in on the chocolate!

I would say the ganache is too much because cheesecake and Oreos are all ready very sweet and rich. Maybe a drizzle of bittersweet chocolate between the crust and cheesecake?

In the words of Edna Mode from The Incredibles - “too much, dahling, too much!”

No such thing as too much chocolate!

I love a thick chocolate gaunach. I would keep that and change the crust to a Graham cracker. If you are set on the Oreo crust then I would do a caramel layer and put the chocolate gaunach on the top. Post a picture after you make it!!
