Who would pay this much to live next to that?

Not sure if this house has been posted here or not, but, I am amazed that a house with an apartment building right beside it would expect to get this much! The building appears to butt right up against the house! It's a lovely house, but it is way too close to that building for my comfort.

There’s a thread on this house from a few weeks ago

Basically, the entire house was moved. It used to face Wisconsin Ave. agree that it looks funny now. It should be torn down and build small apartments to create a transition from the apartments on Wisconsin Ave to the townhouses on macomb, but they prob couldn’t bc it’s considered “historic”…

Yikes. Not me, and my cute house doesn't have a nice view either - the businesses on the other side of the street are rather ugly.

I just checked the street view and wow! It looks like the house fronted Wisconsin, and the apt. building was old and smaller, and now the apt. is expanded, taking up the whole Wisconsin Ave frontage while the house is shifted around the corner. Is this the way for developer to make even more money? I cannot imagine sitting on my $2.4M porch looking at the apt. building wall etc.

Omggggg!!!!! That’s crazy.

The house was just the cost of doing business for the developer. It won’t sell for this list price, but I guess they just wanted to see. Maybe they’ll end up renting it out or something.

Didn't we just talk about this one?

Crazy story. Proximity to the apartments doesn’t bother me, it’s only a couple feet closer than McMansion subdivisions and further than row houses. Price seems good for the location.

I’d be a bit nervous about the site prep and foundation and whether the house would move any as it settles. But the sellers could address these with explanations of how everything was handled.

It’s a historic home. I would pay the price.
