Ortho-K or Misight Contact Lenses for Myopia

Anonymous
DS (almost 11) is very nearsighted and we have been successful slowing down his myopia the last two years by using atropine drops. There has actually been slight improvement in his prescription. Our dr is now recommending ortho-k (at night) or misight lenses (during the day) as options. Does anyone have experience? Since they are both pretty costly, I am thinking of trying regular contacts and sticking with atropine for a bit to see how things go. Anyone have experience?

Our doctor recommended multifocal lenses for my teen. His vision only changed .25 in 2 years so we think they are working. He's 15 tho

It's so hard to guess. Our doctor pushed it, we choose not to and the prescription hasn't changed in 7 or so years except for maybe .5 and still under -2.

My daughter is 15 and has been using the Misight lenses for two years. She is a -4 in one eye and -5 in the other--it has successfully and substantially slowed down the myopia. We didn't try the drops or nighttime contacts. She just had an eye appointment this week to check in and they suggested she remain using these contacts for another year or two, or until it seems she has stopped growing.

My daughter has had Misight contact lenses for 3 yrs now. Her prescription has only changed .25pt over those 3 yrs. Before using misight she was experiencing 1pt differences in a year. We are pleased with the lenses. I was nervous that she would find the ortho-k lenses uncomfortable while she was lying in bed trying to fall asleep and the initial fitting/adjusting to the lenses seemed difficult when it was described to us.
