Do I need my Eclipse glasses? When will I need them again?

Not sure if I should toss these two glasses or not...

There will be future eclipses.

Are you planning on saving these for 20 years? The next US visible one is in 2044.

Toss. If you happen to be in viewing range of another eclipse, you can get another pair.

You can search around, but I think some places are accepting them as donations to South America, where there will be an eclipse in 2025.

It's another 20 years before another one in the Continental US.

That wasn't helpful.

Thank you to the others though!

My kids school is collecting them to send to South America.

Well, I didn't deal in time to get some for last month's eclipse but had a sneaking suspicion that I still had a pair somewhere from the last one as I recalled moving them around from place to place, not knowing what to do with them and whether or not I should bother to keep. So, DH and I tore up the house and found them! And we were glad to have them.

I would not trust my eyes to 20 year old tv filtering film.

Yeah, if we were having another eclipse here in the next few years, that would be one thing, but 20 years? Not worth keeping track of.
