Some people just give off a mature parental vibe even without kids. They tend to be the encouragers in my experience. I have a neighbor who is shy of ten years older than I am but man, he gives me the type of encouragement I would assume my father would have. He’s the type who wants you to know how to change a tire, how to grill, always trying to input knowledge and encourage the neighborhood kids too. I can only assume he has been this way for decades and not just when he turned 48. |
OP here's a sweet thought ~ maybe it's you. You are receptive to his caring nature. You are an open person, an appreciative person. You see the best in others.
He probably has had good, kind people surrounding him in his life. That is why he is the way he is. But don't discount the importance of good kind people who choose to think the best. |
People can be supportive and juvenile. They aren't mutually exclusive. |
If they're like me, it's because they were handed a tough plate in life from a young age. You have to grow up/wisen up/mature much earlier in life than the general population.
