I rarely get to Georgetown these days but have a special request for Levain baked goods for a birthday. It's too late to order them for delivery so I'm thinking I can just stop by to get them. Where do people usually park in that area - 31st and M? I can't imagine there's street parking right there on M Street but am willing to walk several blocks if there are blocks in that area known to be emptyish. Otherwise is there a preferred garage/lot that's easy to get in and out of? This should be a quick 15 min errand so it's not like I need all day parking. Only time I'm ever in Georgetown is if I have to go to Medstar and I know there are garages there plus a section of Reservoir Road often has street parking - though I'm not looking for a mile+ walk either. I'd be there on a weekday - mid day if that helps. |
OP again - bonus points if parking can be paid for online via ParkMobile or something similar, rather than dealing with a parking attendant or some random credit card machine. |
There’s parking on the side streets, north of M Street. You should be able to find parking within a block or two |
Agree! I live a block or two from there. You should be able to find something up from 31st at N, O, or P. |
I park on the street. Usually good options although may need to be a few blocks up. Otherwise there is a lot next to Cafe Milano that I have used at lunchtime. Isn’t the old Georgetown Park now a parking lot? There’s also plenty of parking in the lots off K on the waterfront. |
PS not sure where you are coming from but there is also a Levain in Bethesda. |
Use spot hero |
Side street few blocks north from M.You may get lucky on M, but start with neighborhood. I park few blocks from cupcakes usually. |
Came to say this too, if you are coming from Maryland or the Chevy Chase part of DC it might be easier for you to go to the Bethesda location, easier to park there than Georgetown |
Just order delivery from them on Ubereats |
I park in Georgetown every day - just park anywhere in the neighborhoods above M street. It’s not impossible at all. And free. Bethesda is sometimes harder to find parking. |
Thanks all - doesn’t seem parking is bad at all. Coming from Va so Georgetown will def be closer than Bethesda. |
Parking in Georgetown was challenging 20 years ago so it's got a reputation. I go there every couple of months and easily find street parking near where I'm going. |
They've built more garages/surface lots since then and Georgetown just doesn't have the same popularity now as it did 20 years ago. IDK I feel like way fewer people go to Georgetown to spend a day hanging out. Rather people go for a 15 min errand that can't be run someplace else, for Medstar etc. |
