adding greenery/texture in dining room

Anonymous
My formal dining room is very neutral. I plan to add color via artwork but want to take my time collecting pieces I love.

In the meanwhile, I want to add some softness, color and texture to the room via some kind of live greenery centerpiece to stay on my rectangular dining room table (I’d remove it before eating at the table, but that only happens once a month or so).

I love the succulent/orchid/moss arrangements at Terrain, but those all need bright or indirect light (I asked) and my dining is very low light. Any ideas for what I can place on the table that will work towards my goal but withdtand the low light?

Thanks.

Why not use fresh flowers?

Because I don't want to replace every week or so - I'm hoping for something longer lasting. Thanks, OP

You could do a moth orchid even if the space doesn’t get much light. The orchid doesn’t need a lot of light while it’s in bloom and the blooms should last for a few weeks. Once it’s done flowering you can move it to a bright window and swap in another one.

How about a preserved arrangement? There are some at Terrain but also look at Shida. Still some color and texture but no need for light. If you are dead set on a live plant you could consider peace lily or Chinese evergreen — both are low light plants. But they aren’t really the type of plant that works as a centerpiece. Would look better on a sideboard or in a plant stand in the corner.
