Fire station birthday parties?

Anonymous
Anyone know how to reach some of the volunteer fire stations in lower MD or Arlington? Takoma Park is out because of renovations to their party room and Cherrydale hasn’t gotten back to me. DS’s birthday isn’t until early September but I’ve heard you have to book in advance. Hoping for something less than 30 min from DC as we live in the Adam’s Morgan area. Thanks for any advice!

Falls Church does parties. It's basically in Arlington off of 66.

DS had one there years ago and loved it. https://fallschurchfire.org/birthday-parties/

Oops. Didn't read the website until I posted. Looks like they're renovating as well.

I went to one at the Wheaton Rescue Squad. They were super nice and welcoming. It was a great experience.

Kensington!!! They have the form on the website. You submit it and pay and they confirm within a few days. Slow response times because it’s volunteer run. But it was great day of. We “donated” $200 or $250 and had an entire room downstairs to ourselves. It’s noting fancy though. When you arrive you let them know what time you want a tour and they bring you all through the firehouse and then the trucks. Birthday kid gets to ring the alarm from the office. Everytime my 3 year old drives by he talks about his party!

We had my son’s 4th birthday here and they started the most amazing tour and kids were so so hooked and then the alarm rang and they were off! The kids absolutely loved seeing that action but it meant we had to entertain for all but those ten minutes the firemen were available. So just be prepared that emergencies can and do happen and you may not get a tour, etc.

Yes, forgot to include that! The big truck was out when our tour was planned but they told us when they thought it would be back and delayed the tour.

We also hired a performer to make sure we had the time filled, but you could do games too and just have a few extras.

Rockville fire department came out to our house with the truck. It was really fun. The kids got to climb through the truck, 'drive' wear the hats. They could not guarantee of course based on emergencies.. I made a donation.

We just went to a party at Kensington and both trucks were out on a call but they showed the kids their all terrain truck and canteen truck. Kids had a blast

Also had a party at Kensington. Did the tour. Lasted 15 minutes. The rest of the time kids just played in the basement with toys we brought from home. Would def recommend it. Great squad.

I heard someone brought an indoor bounce house. There’s plenty of space for it if you’re not having a ton of people.
