Ordered some new summer clothes. All of my old summer pants and shorts are just a little too big (look like I’m wearing a diaper in the front but fit in waist and butt) and everything a size down is way too tight. How is this possible? What should I do? Keep trying? |
Go in person and try on stuff until you find what works |
I’ve been doing that and no matter where I try, I’m between sizes. So at this point, I have a month probably until I will wear the stuff. I will hopefully have lost a little more in that time. Do I just keep the smaller stuff? |
I wouldn’t keep “wish” clothing. It could be another six months and you’ll have different taste, plus it will be colder. |
You could buy the baggy size and get it altered. |
Wear dresses instead |
Agree with wearing dresses. Also, I adjust the styles. Something with a slimmer fit, in the larger size, may be better, or the smaller size but with a looser fit can work. I am also losing weight and find myself between sizes. Personally I don’t trust the weight loss and don’t want to invest in a lot of new clothes that may be temporary, so I continue wearing my baggy clothes except for very specific needs (like upcoming high school graduation for DC — will buy a new outfit for that).

I’ve dropped 2-3 sizes over the last year. I just keep buying a size down of some key basics (anyone need J crew Kate pants in a range of sizes?). Wear a belt on loose stuff. Try different styles and different brands. |
If it fits in the waist and butt, the size fits. It's just the cut doesn't work for you anymore. Try different styles until you find one you like. |
Buy dresses for the summer. |
I've lost weight recently and I bought a few belts. I'll probably pick up some stretchy shorts for this summer also. |
Safety pins on the sides, blousy tops and or camis with short jackets that hide the safety pins on each hip |
Dresses and loose pants. That is mostly what I'm doing right now. For jeans they make removable/replacement button pins that work really well; I buy them from amazon and just wear my jeans baggy with that button + a belt to cover. Most look fine except those that really need to be formfitting, which I'll replace later on. |
