UTI vs BV - what Dr to see?

Anonymous
I was given macrobid to treat a UTI. But apparently according to the urine culture it may be BV instead. I’m on the last day of the antibiotic and not fully experiencing relief. Urine is still intermittently bright green, which is what I’ve previously experienced with a UTI. Urethral pain is gone, but now I’m very itchy though it doesn’t seem like a yeast infection.

Do I go back to PCP or see my gyno?

I would go to a urogyn.

OP again. I also had what I thought was spotting along with light cramping, but perhaps is something else? I’m in peri and my cycle is far from regular.

I would go to gynco

I'd see your gyn if spotting and if you suspect BV. Do you have a fish like odor? You could also try a boric acid suppository to clear it but be forewarned, it is harsh and can also cause bleeding sometimes.

I’m an NP who works at Planned Parenthood and truly see yeast/BV/UTI visits all day long. Go where you can be seen quickly ( like a PP clinic) this is straightforward stuff to diagnose and treat and def does not require urogyn specialty skills ( and wait times.) Also don’t go to urgent care, they seem to avoid exams and mistreating a lot based on reported symptoms only.
