Long Covid or menopause or both

Anonymous
I went through Covid for the second time this past winter. The first time I had it was much worse and it took a few months to get over the brain fog. Since catching it again, I’ve been feeling the same brain fog symptoms. I’m in my late 40s and raising two kids while working full time. Anyone else on the same boat? Sometimes I look at blank screens at work and can’t even form a sentence, and my focus is off. Or I can’t follow conversations and forget what I’m supposed to do, or just lose motivation I’m wondering if I’m also slammed with menopause or peri menopause symptoms and long Covid at the same time. I told my gyno and she didn’t have much to offer.

Sounds more like long Covid to me. I have a close friend dealing with it and her cognitive symptoms were very similar to what you describe. She ended up going to a long Covid clinic and getting both physical and cognitive rehab. Her cognitive symptoms improved more quickly than the physical fatigue which is still present a year later.

Late 40s? Menopause. All women will go through menopause. Long Covid is rare. It’s menopause.

You're just getting old, and you're likely busy and tired from working and raising kids.

No one here can know for sure.

What about visiting a long COVID clinic to get checked out?

Then, you can look for a menopause-literate doctor at menopause.org.

I hope you feel better soon!
