Rolling admissions and undergrad teaching focus?

Anonymous
We are walking a tightrope with my dyslexic, anxious DD who now needs to put together her college list.

She is really coming into her own as she has had some fabulous teachers in the past couple of years. She is also stepping up as a neurodiversity advocate within her school with real impact in faculty education sessions about 2E kids.

Her grades (3.8) and rigor (3 APs + Spanish) are increasing and she has started to see college as not something to just get through. But she is not shooting for top schools.

What are your favorite schools with a focus on undergrad education and rolling admissions?

Why rolling admissions?

Hmmm. We liked Susquehanna a lot. I remember my DC finding out very quickly after applying.

Interested in this also—we’re just starting out the process but DD has a similar profile and stats.

Juniata.

Weird double request. not that many schools with rolling and those that have them aren't the "best" schools.

I’m the second requester. I don’t really care about rolling admissions but am interested in seeing recommendations because DD’s profile and stats are very similar to OP’s.

OP didn't cite rank as part of the criteria.

what she said was:

What are your favorite schools with a focus on undergrad education and rolling admissions?

and how would YOU proceed from there if you are going to be critical?

Right. Undergrad focus. Not ranking or prestige.

I suggested Juniata above.

Around the DMV Pitt is a standard choice for rolling admissions school. I think undergrad focus and instruction varies by department. Disability Services offers a lot of supports, but your kid has to take advantage of them.

University of Cincinnati is another rolling admissions school. I liked the compactness of the campus, the co-op programs, and easy access to a lot of enrichment in and around Cincinnati. It’s worth a visit

Beloit doesn't officially have rolling admissions, but DC heard back within a few weeks of applying. That school is filled with heart, and you can tell the professors care immensely. I've said it on here before, but their sweet spot seems to be curious, interesting kids who didn't quite hit their stride in high school. And I couldn't believe how kind everyone seemed.

We found the same as several less selective small colleges. Not officially rolling but heard back pretty quickly. I'm addition to Beloit, Washington College, Juniata, Allegheny

Arizona State.

I don't think you mentioned -- how far from home would she want to be? And any thoughts on a major?
