S/O - DC Summers

Anonymous
Spin off of the post about leaving this area because if the hot/humid/buggy summers…

Just writing to say the older I get, the more I LOVE DC summers. I grew up in a much more temperate area but have been in DC for 20+ years, and over the last 15 or so summers, have just fully embraced the hot, drippy mess that is summer.

Hot nights for late night walks, fire flies, long days at the pool, popsicles, that buzz in the air at sunrise when you can just feel how hot it’s going to be. I seriously LOVE it and the last few days have me itching for summer.

Yep. I’m a native, and I love hot, humid summer weather. I understand, OP.

I wouldn't mind it as much if there were no mosquitos.

I don’t feel the same, but I’m happy for you OP. Your season is almost upon us. Enjoy!

Mosquitoes serve a purpose - they feed birds and bats. Without mosquitoes we’d have far fewer birds. Ever been to a place without mosquitoes? Vegas? Albuquerque? Phoenix? They have a fraction of the bird life we have here.
