Going to a bridal shower this weekend - my daughter and I. We both had planned to wear spring dresses - think like this: https://www.nordstrom.com/s/printed-tiered-babydoll-dress/7702539?origin=category-personalizedsort&breadcrumb=Home%2FWomen%2FClothing%2FDresses&color=900
but the weather is going to be like 55-60 degrees where we are headed. Can we just throw on a sweater and ignore the weather or do I have to find something else warmer? My issue with that is that I have black and she has navy and they are both really too dressy. What say ye, DCUM? (Other than the weather needs to get it together.) |
Wear it!! It will be May!! Never mind the actual weather. It's spring! |
I would pick a lovely cocktail dress and wear hose and cardigan that are in the same color scheme. |
Find another outfit. |
This is perfect OP! I thought it was going to be all strappy and backless. It has a lot of coverage. My legs don't get cold but I am also fine with hose. |
"wear hose"
What hear is this, 1952? |
Don't do any of this. I don't love the dress but it's fine for a bridal shower in May. |
You clearly haven't been paying attention. With new technology, there are some lovely patterns in tights these days. You wear them to show them off, not to hide your legs. But in this instance, you also wear them to warm up a little. |
That type of dress is fine. Your daughter could wear a jean jacket, and you could wear a light jacket or cardigan. |
Sure, it’s fine. This time of year people wear all sorts of things because of the weird weather transitions. If you’re comfortable in it, it’s great! |
It is spring! As long as you won't be cold, I'd go ahead and wear it. |
A bridal shower in May? Absolutely. |
It’s May— that dress is totally appropriate. |
I don’t like the dress but it is appropriate for bridal shower in May no matter the weather |
I'd maybe wear close toed shoes, instead of strappy sandals. Wear a coat, and if it's indoors it won't matter at all. If it's outdoors, I'd wear pants. |
