Does anyone have insights as to changes going on at GW Medical Faculty Associates? Multiple doctors have left there suddenly with no notice and no forwarding information, handing me off mid treatment. The experience has been disconcerting and the transfer of information has been less than smooth. It may prove fine in the long run, but I am wondering if there are some institutional problems going on that could make things worse. |
I’m not aware of any changes. I’ve been seeking consistent care there for the past 2 months. |
OP-Apparently it’s been a long time coming. From speaking to HCWs who have worked at GW/GW Hospital, the company that owns the hospital (UHS) is pretty horrendous (very profit driven, does not care about patient outcomes, just google it) and the upper management at GW Hospital is equally terrible. They are terrible to nurses, terrible to residents, etc. Just google UHS. Google GW. |
Medical faculty associates are deeply in the red, so departments are shuttering or faculty are fleeing to safer groups to work for. |
Will the midwives group ever ramp back up? |
Yeah doctors have been leaving in droves. This has been happening for the past two years or so. Two of my friends who were doctors there left. |
