Outcomes for Government Majors at UMD?

My DC is considering enrolling at UMD and intends to major in Government. There are lots of posts re STEM majors at UMD, but I haven’t found anything re the Government and Politics department at UMD. Do graduates with this degree have good outcomes? Have a hard time finding a job after graduation?

DC doesn’t have a specific career in mind yet, just a general interest in public affairs.

UMD is a great school! Have you visited and talked to students and staff in the program, OP?

I'm sure being close to DC gives UMD some advantage in this regard. Students would be able to get year round internships rather than just in the summer if they went to school far away from DC.

Yes, we did contact the school and were referred to a UMD survey of graduating students that contains information about outcomes. However, only a very small percentage of kids responded to the survey, so we didn't find it particularly useful.
