IFTA / PE

Has anyone had a child take PE 9 during IFTA? Any words of wisdom for prep? How is it different from the online PE?

We are gone the first week of the online PE, and DC enjoyed IFTA last year and wanted to do it again. We figured PE would open up another elective to take another art class throughout the school year.

This might be one of the best questions I have seen anyone post on here. IFTA is great and to get PE done sounds fantastic. I hope someone answers you.

One of the IFTA slots opens up to do the on-line meeting for PE. But you still have to do the exercise after IFTA on your own (and download HR data from your app or HR monitor). It's pretty intense to do IFTA and on-line gym, but my kid thought it was worth it.

Yes, my word of wisdom is that during the signup they do not give you the choice to make it pass/fail and if you want to do that contact them now.

The one year my kid did IFTA, the PE actually started the week before the camp did, and we were going to be on vacation that week, so she was unable to take the PE. Also that year, it was going to end a few days before the end of IFTA, so I guess they would just be sitting there for that class period. It may have changed since then, who knows.

OP: I just got an email today that the course starts !2 weeks! before IFTA, which was not stated anywhere. Oh, well. Guess she won't be doing that.

I am the PP--isn't that so annoying? I don't understand why they don't advertise that. I remember thinking that was half the reason we did the 4 weeks of camp and not 2. We ended up withdrawing from the second half.

It is stated on the FCPS IFTA website.

It's stated on the IFTA website and in the registration form when you select PE. Plus, it's sort of common sense--how would they fit a year of PE into a month when you are enrolled in 3 other art classes too?
