Need to exercise video series--30-ish minutes strength training

Anonymous
I'm 48 years old, and in moderate shape. I've done T25 and MBF on Bodi and I'm looking for my next video series. I want to focus on building strength/muscle, particularly in arms and back.

What would you recommend for a new series? Anyone have any they love? My goal is to do 3 videos/week, and then run and do yoga 2 other days (so a total of 5 days/week).

I use Peloton Strength classes and love them.

I love Barre3's online classes. They have classes focused on strength, cardio, core, or "flow" (those are yoga classes). They also have "signature" classes that combine these elements. Tons of options at different lengths -- I'll do a 10 minute core class after a yoga class or a run, but I also really like the 30 and 45 minute strength-focused classes.

The key is to work with heavier weights. I look for the classes where the instructor is using 15 lb weights because to me that's when I really start to see results. But I can also just grab heavier weights for a class where they are using something lighter, and then switch to lighter weights when I max out.

I also like the mix of instructors. There is one I can't stand but all the others are good in different ways, and mixing up the instructors helps me from getting bored.

Peloton is $13 a month and the classes are great. I stream it from my phone to my TV.

Same.

Can you do Peloton strength without a Peloton machine? I know I can search myself but if anyone could opine, that would be great.

Peloton strength is all free weights or bodyweight. Love peloton strength -/ check out hardcore on the floor on FB, she puts out a calendar to follow. Or check out programs on the app. Rebecca Kennedy has a great 5-day split program.

OMG people. Stop with the Peloton. i agree that it's great (I have a bike and use all the material) but you can find free stuff on youtube!

Caroline Girvan is one awesome example.
I love Courtney Anderson as well.

Since you have Bodi, I'd recommend Amoila Cesar's programs. I really liked 6 Weeks of the Work and 645.

I used to love Jillian Michaels 30 Day Shred - I had the DVDs but I bet you can find them online.

I like nourish move love and Sidney Cummings more than Peloton. They are also free.

Caroline Girvan has a few series that are only 30 minutes. Check out Fuel and Iron in particular. Free on youtube.

Yes, but you do have to purchase a separate app membership. It’s around $13 a month (it’s actually more expensive for the monthly fee if you own the peloton brand bike. I do cycle classes on my non peloton bike).
