We are still on the waitlist for our first choice for PreK but have received an offer to another school. Already let the first choice school know we wanted to stay on the waitlist when acceptances came out but now we need to let 2nd choice know by end of day today- should I send a last email to the 1st choice (or call?) to see what the chances are? Or go with 2nd choice? |
What’s the harm in calling your first choice? There’s no down side |
You could put in a call to first choice but it’s unlikely to speed things up—they’d have notified you if they had a space available now. Take the second choice, and either commit to stick with it regardless or be willing to lose the deposit and jump ship to school #1 if a spot comes through there. |
Go with the school who wants your kid. |
A bird in hand... |
This happened to us. I called our first choice school where we were “waitlisted” and was told it wasn’t going to happen but we should reapply in the fall. I appreciated the honesty. 2nd choice has been a great fit. |
