GW OBs and Midwives

Its been a number of years since my last pregnancies and it looks like there has been a lot of turnover in the GW OB and Midwife practice. Anyone have recommendations on OBs or midwives they have had good experiences with?
And does anyone know if there been any major changes to the practice since Whitney left? She was a bit of a zealot but I respected her approach.

If you subscribe to WP’s extremist ideology, you’d be better off delivering in a home birth with her. She’s still practicing abut there are a lot of us who had horrible experiences with her at her former place of work. The whole GW group is better off that she is gone.

I exclusively saw Dr. Jamshidi during my pregnancy at the end of 2022 (delivered Feb 2023). I used the Sibley MFMs for all of my scans. I had a scheduled induction, so Dr. Jamshidi let me pick the time so that Dr. Sheth would be the attending on L&D.

Dr. Jamshidi is a wonderful doctor but honestly the front desk staff was so horrible (cancelling appointments by accident and being completely unapologetic, billing me incorrectly, just messing up one thing after another and seeming annoyed whenever I dealt with them) that I did not go back for my next pregnancy. Front desk staff turn over rate is high and my exper was in 2021/22 so maybe it's changed but given how deep incompetence and indifference seemed to go in the work culture, I doubt it.

I cannot say enough good things about the actual doctors (especially Jamshidi) though.

And yes the front desk - with a few exceptions - seems to have always been terrible. Currently struggling with scheduling my early visits.

Dr. Jamshidi is wonderful. I recently also saw Dr. Effron, who is also great!

Any idea if bethesda location hired a new sonographer yet? As of last October they were still looking but then I miscarried and am now in endless fertility treatments. Would love to go back to bethesda location if I ever get pregnant again

No they have not. You’d have to go into Foggy Bottom for your scans.

she’s doing home births? ugh.

She went over to Birthcare. Not sure how she’s still practicing but I am guessing her former place of employment got tired of all
the med mal lawsuits….
