How many steps do you average a day?

Do they still recommend 10,000 a day? Do you hit it? I average around 15,000 a day. My body feels off when I don’t hit at least 10,000.

How do you get that many steps in?

I was hitting around 15k too but then I suffered lateral femoral cutaneous nerve syndrome and it hurts to walk. So I'm way down in my step count. I do a lot of stretching now to try to alleviate the pain, which keeps me awake at night. Ugh.

Around 6000 if I’m able to walk my scurvy dog far, then 10,000

An average of 20k a day.

My legs and feet are sore. I am doing it for health and wellness reasons.

I switched my Garmin to miles - I try to get 4 miles a day and that’s with an intentional 3 mile fitness walk 3-4 days a week.

Much more than this and I get minor hip pain that is annoying more than anything.

I’m 55, menopausal, osteoporosis but fit.

My target is 9K and it’s hit or miss if I get it. Last week I got it 4/7 days. If I run on the treadmill and / or go for a walk while at work I hit it, otherwise no.

20k most days.

Some big numbers in here! I run about 1200-1400 miles a year and still seem to only average 12k per day when calculated over a year evidently.

I think anywhere near 10k consistently is a good number. If you are literally just being normally mobile and walking, that can take a lot of time.

10k. Ideally I go for a long walk during the day (before or after work). But mostly I mentally plan chunks of 2500 to hit by a certain time.

If I run that day 12-15k. If not sometimes as low as 8,000. I live in a very car centric area. I walk my dog but that’s about it on the walking.

I get minimum of 10K/day. I walk at treadmill desk for non-call-zoom time while working.

17k usually. I have small kids and an active dog.

I get between 15-20k. 2 huge dogs that require a lot of walks. I do conference calls that I dont have to participate in while walking.
