DS8 - started with a sore throat and fever, which were the only symptoms he had for several days. On day 6, he developed additional symptoms of nasal congestion, cough, and lethargy (on top of the original sore throat and fever). The fever finally broke on day 8, nasal congestion cleared up a few days after that, cough is still hanging on 2 weeks later. Strep, flu, and covid tests all negative. What the heck is this? Is anyone else seeing this in your house? |

Probably should go to a doctor?? |
Allergies don't cause fever. |
My husband is getting over this virus - he’s on day 8 - not Covid. Same symptoms you describe. It’s been allergies+flu |
+1 it’s not allergies. Allergies don’t cause fevers. |
Sometimes you just aren't going to know. There are hundreds of human viruses, with 3-4 new ones being discovered each year. |
Why do you need the name of the virus? |
Could be walking pneumonia. Which is usually bacterial, but could be viral. |
Could be adenovirus. But agree that it doesn't matter. There are tons of viruses that cause uris. There isn't a cure for any and the supportive treatment is the same for all of them. |
+1 Before COVID we weren't going around trying to know the scientific name for viruses, we were just sick! "A cold", "The flu". As said before, the treatment is about the same for all and viruses don't impact every individual the same. Call your doc if you are worried about symptoms/longevity of feeling ill. |
100% allergies |
We all had the crud last week too. It caused vastly different symptoms in all of us. I don’t know what it was. |
