Georgetown Summer Classes

Anonymous
Hello -

I have a freshman at Duke that would like to take a math course at Georgetown this summer. She is struggling to get a response back from G'town on approval of the course work. Any ideas she has emailed and plans calling Monday....

I don't know what to tell you because we're in the same boat. My kid (high school student) is signed up for a summer program at Georgetown and they have been awful to deal with so far. Not responsive at all. Gave out instructions that literally can't be followed. I wish we had never signed up.

Do the Georgetown dorms and campus still have a rodent problem ?

DC in the summer is hot & humid. Send your student to a school located in an area with a more comfortable climate.

You are really on a roll today.

Have no idea to what you are referring. Have not written anything about Georgetown in the past months.

Are you unaware of the rodent (rats) problem at Georgetown ?

Apparently you have never spent a summer in DC; I assure you that it will be hot & humid again.

^I’m aware of the rat problem in Oldtown, urban parts of DC, Chicago, Clarendon, Boston, etc. Yes. Last July they were crawling in and out of the construction dumpster next door (close-in suburb). Outside the restaurant in a different part of DC last night…,

Duh.

The thread is dealing with Georgetown in Washington DC, not random cities around the country.

I am sorry you are experiencing this too - hopefully we will hear from them on Monday.

You know that most urban campuses of colleges, apartments, and buildings in general have rats? Especially those near water? YOu know that Georgetown is near water? Do you think that most people looking at Georgetown for a colege are unaware of this? You sound very naive and uninformed.

Other PP is talking about the poster who takes any opportunity to mention the situation - which seems more than a little obsessed with the topic, to sane people. I don't know anyone who has said "what?? Harvard is in Cambridge?? And Cambridge has rats?? And Harvard has rats on campus?? Quelle horreur!!!" Because I assure you that is exactly NOT what happens. Drop the subject, and the tired schtick, why don't you. No one cares that you feel the need to dwell on stupid BS.
