Kitchen Cabinets from Home Depot

Anonymous
Has anyone bought kitchen cabinets through Home Depot and/or did your kitchen through home depot? If so, what was your experience?

Our cabinets are through Home Depot (Thomasville) but we used a design/build firm, so I didn't deal with Home Depot at all.

Very happy with the cabinets - look, quality, organizational options.

We used HD and house brand, but upgraded to the plywood box. Happy with the quality and the results. Much cheaper than other branded cabinets. Ordering them was somewhat tedious - over an hour in store sitting with the order taker while she asked questions and typed it into the computer. Lowes’ house brand I think is made in the same factory, btw.

Home depot sells good cabinetry if you upgrade to all plywood construction. However they have less experienced designers and a less professional remodeling system. Read this bog for an explanation:

I used HD out of SS for Craftmade plywood box and the designer was fabulous, I have a tiny kitchen and he totally maxed out the space. I felt lucky to get that level of design from a big box, so I got my vanities and LR storage from Craft maid as well.

We had a really good experience with HD as well with our kitchen cabinets. Paid to have them come measure our kitchen, then worked with an in-store designer to plan it out. We used our own contractor to install as we were doing a larger renovation, but we've been very happy with the cabinets.

We used Home Depot for our Kraftmaid cabinets. Our contractor installed them, it has been over 10 years and still look great. Luckily, we had an experienced kitchen designer which helped. We have a pretty big kitchen and needed a lot of cabinets.

They are very nice.

The biggest issue I had was that it was hard to communicate with/ reach the kitchen designer at the Home Depot that we shopped at. I didn't have a way to email her or call her except calling the store and hoping that she was in. She did a great job maximizing the space and offering suggestions and solutions.

The ordering was tedious as someone else mentioned, sitting there waiting as it was typed in, I think we had to pay upfront in full. It was like $26,000.

We ordered them in 2021 and they were not offering measuring services, so I had to measure everything myself. We had our own contractor install them.
