House Porn - which would you rather have?

Look past the decor of the houses the first being the worst). I LOVE the second one, it is my dream house in every possible way but I am just blown away by the price tag when you compare it to the sheer size of first.

House #1 looks like a funeral home.

More like a Pennsylvania roadside motel.

I'd pick #2 but that basketball court makes it a very difficult choice

Literally making money on the charter school 'industry.'

Gross.

The ceilings are amazing and I'd have some date nights in that wine cellar but the estate would need a house manager and I'm not up for all that

Ugh, yes that is indeed gross

#1. I would of course redecorate but the size and layout and unique touches are the best.

you are delusional - not even remotely close.

The price difference is surprising, I agree.

#1 is so crazy. I love parts of it (the grotto!), but it is a lot to take in. Hard ot imagine redoing some of the more outlandish things. My goodness the wallpaper. Everywhere.

2 is great, but doesn't feel super special. The outside front is downright bland.

#2

It's plenty big, but the renovations kept much of the historical charm and details. The outdoors spaces are sublime. Very tasteful and subtle renovations + decor.

The only thing I would change is get rid of the double swinging double doors into the kitchen and convert them into pocket doors.

Modest in front, party in the rear.

The current owners have done a lot of work to the house, particularly on the landscaping and hardscaping. Very cool.

The second one is so gorgeous and tasteful and rich, it’s almost gross. Like I bet they serve on the boards of their kids fancy private schools but in a nice way where they’re humble and put in a lot of time and open their gorgeous home for good causes. I puke a little in my mouth.
