I have heard from previous TJ parents (and even students in some cases) of their kid studying a lot and how much less their kids sleep. My TJ kid sleeps like 7-8 hours daily - lot more than what we have heard from others. Should I be happy or concerned? |
I was a TJ kid. There was a massive range of normal and the kids who "studied" all hours didn't necessarily do the best in school. |
This is absolutely true. |
Did you read the first word of the title? |
DC's there now. Sleeps about 8.5 hrs a night. |
Sounds like you need a nap. |
7 to 8 hours weekdays, 9 to 10 hours weekends, both my TJ kid as well as base HS kid |
10th grader, sleeps about 8 hrs weekdays, more on weekends.

No, sounds like I don’t feel the need to answer every post. |
Apparently, you do. (Go ahead. We know you want to.) |
Grade 2025 admitted 550 students and 109 went back to their base school. Now only 441 students in grade 2025.
Lots of students sleep around 1am or 2am and wake up around am. |

If student needs 5pm to 1am/2am, almost 7 to 8 hours for daily homework/quiz prep, perhaps they are covering more than just schoolwork?
In other news, tiktok ban could take years before it takes effect. |
Seems like they should accept 600 students then. |
Actually, 441 includes ~15-20 students joining TJ as freshmore. Around 130 students in 2025 went back to their base schools because those students had really tough time at TJ |
