Parkland magnet MS electives

| Current 6th grader loves them. He takes language and science electives. We've been impressed with both. The science electives are high interest topics and really contribute to his overall experience there. |

Thank you! What Science electives is he taking - I understand they are semester based? Is he in consortium or out of consortium? Are there many out of consortium kids that take the bus? |

He's out of consortium and takes the bus. The bus also drops off at Loiderman and it's pretty full, but I'm not sure how many go to each school.
His science electives are great - Principles of Flight and Invent the Future this year. And those are in addition to the two required science courses for the magnet program. So he has a total of four science courses - 2 all year, and 2 semester-based. Not sure of his schedule next year, but the options included 3D Printing and Forensics. (Obviously, if a kid is not as into science, they wouldn't need to choose science electives. I remember there being studio art and a couple music options, but that's probably not all.) |
