Wait, do people care about HS soccer? Honest question. I’m a parent of a younger kid and club soccer has been our world to date.

Yes, of course. Many kids do travel sports specifically so they can have a shot at making their high school team.

Wow you have really chugged the club soccer Kool Aid.

Even kids who played club soccer for many years sometimes can't even make the JV teams.

I coach High School soccer in Northern virginia. The athletics department has a spreadsheet of all kids who registered to try out for a sport (of course not every kid actually shows up).

Boys soccer had 180 players registered for tryouts, only 110 showed up.

High school teams have to deal with a lot of social issues which bubble up from underneath that club teams don't ever have to think about.

Ask any HS soccer player if they care about HS soccer and see what they say.

As a parent I love HS soccer. No travel! Woohoo! No carting him to practice, because it's right after school. I can even watch live on NFHS if I can't make the game. It's great!
