ATS

As we consider our options for K next year, I was wondering if a current ATS family might be able to answer some questions:

Does ATS use Core Knowledge for ELA? Science? History?

If my child is already a strong reader, what differentiation is provided to make sure they are adequately challenged?

Thank you for your help!

you have about a 1% shot of getting in. Get in, then ask questions.

Maybe they did get in and want to know more?

KCLA for history and writing and reading (ELA). Big improvement over LC. Current math is "envision". I hate the science "text book" b/c it's ... trying to be fun but instead it's stupid but I can't remember the name of it. It's the same as all APS.

Current parent. Love this school. So fortunate to win this lottery. The year my kid got in, chances were 4%. Lower now.

Cool story, but actual ATS parents would answer the questions.

I am the person who answered the question ffs. And yes, some ATS parents have a potty mouth.

The use of expletives is the least concerning part of your responses. You alright over there? Seems like you’re on the verge of a breakdown.

Someone asked a question about the curricula that ATS uses. It isn’t that deep.

we are another happy family at ATS and so grateful we got in.

two kids are currently there. one of them was an above average reader going into the school. since he is so advanced he has been given the same amount of work but at a bit more advanced level. his teachers have also gone above and beyond in providing extra stuff for him too for over the summer and during the week if it's needed.

our other child that attends ATS is very much average in all subjects and has also had a positive experience.

I just don't understand why they don't do this at all of the schools.

It does happen at other schools but is teacher dependent. ATS has significantly fewer behavioral issues. Teachers have more time for that kind of thing.

We are on the waitlist for K. Started off mid thirties and now down to the teens. Do you think we have a shot
